Ephemera (2023)
An ex-couple reminisces their pasts and reflect on what those moments mean to them.
This project is a curious result of an observation I had made nearly a year ago, when I was fascinated by the peculiar nature of remembering. Specifically how our interpretation of our very own pasts is continuously reshaped by new experiences, shifting and redefining meanings that we derive from repeatedly remembering an event.
Do our memories ever remain the same upon every revisit? How does time play a role in (re)portraying our images of someone or something? Through this temporally-distorted, non-linear narrative, I hope the film acknowledges these particular wonders.
